Plains Indian Men's Leggings #10034
c. 1890's
These men's leggings are Plains style with side fringe stained with yellow ochre. The leg portions are pigmented in green. Blue and white seed beads decorate the edge and bottom of the leggings as well as form the dragon fly designs. The same decoration is seen on both the front and back sides. Beaded panels on muslin are applied to the front of the leggings, possibly from another piece of clothing.

Northern Arapaho Otter Headdress with Drop #SF2705
A scarce Northern Arapaho Otter Headdress with drop. The turban is made from winter otter with a hand cut dragonfly on one side and a buffalo head on the other side, both made from German sheet silver. Two ermine skins are attached by hide and brass beads to the turban. The drop is made up of 18 german silver conchas attached to a two-piece leather horse harness. The top 11 conchas have a sunburst design and measure 2 ¾" in diameter. The lower seven conchas are made with sheet german silver and brass, each measures 2 ¼" in diameter. The end of the drop is horse hair wrapped with leather and red northern plains trade cloth trimmed in blue, red, and white beads.
