Chippewa Squaw and Child. McKenney (1785-1859) & Hall (1793-1868). Hand-colored lithographed plate of "Chippewa Squaw and Child [pink]." This plate is from the famous 120 plate complete set done in the mid 19th century. Chiefly painted by Charles Bird King, they were deposited at the war department in Wash D.C. The project was under the direction of Col. McKenney, Superintendent of Indian Affairs.
